Lottery curse seems unavoidable for some winners, and that really happened, believe it or not.  Winning a lottery has changed some winner’s life upside down. Some even have a disaster plaguing their life such as divorce, bankruptcy, or even death. A psychological study believes the predictable outcomes of the lottery winners, while the unfortunate events remain as a phenomenon.

Here are 7 examples of lottery curse:

  1. Billie Bob Harrell Junior – He won the jackpot of around $31 million. Two years later, with a possible reason of being unable to take the pressure of lending money he went depressed. Harrell shot and killed himself in his house bedroom in Texas.
  2. Jeffrey Dampier – The lucky winner of $20 million Illinois Lottery jackpot in 1996. He spent most of his earnings and shared the amount with family and friends. In 2005, his sister-in-law kidnapped and murdered him. Later his body was found in his own truck.
  3. Abraham Shakespeare – A laborer in Tampa who won $40 million back in 2006. He was so generous that he gave the money to everyone who asked. He was later killed by his colleague, Moore, and his body was buried under concrete slabs.
  4. Amanda Clayton – A lucky woman who won $1 million Michigan Lottery in 2011. She was later charged for welfare fraud and 3 months later found dead of an alleged overdose case in her home.
  5. Ibi Roncaioli – A Hungary-born Canadian wife and Ontario resident who luckily won $5 million lotteries in 1991. In 2003, she was found dead in her home and her husband sentenced to 7 years behind bars.
  6. Craigory Burch Junior – A young 20-year-old who previously worked as a forklift operator won $434,272 in 2015. Two months after hitting the jackpot, 7 thugs broke into his home and killed him. All the suspects were caught and charged for his murder.
  7. Urooj Khan – Previously worked as a dry cleaner, Urooj Khan had hit a jackpot of $1 million in 2012. A few days after he accepted his check, he died. Police ruled out his death as a natural cause, but the coroner informed that he was poisoned with cyanide.
