  2. Billy Bob Harrell hit a $41 million jackpot in June 1997. He gave away tons of his winnings to people and left him with much less than he won. He even separated with his wife a year after he won the jackpot.
  3. Janita Lee, an immigrant from South Korea, won $18 million back in Illinois Lottery in 1993. She spent the money to charity but also spent it on gambling and has lots of credit card debt. At 60 years old, Lee filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and had $2.5 million in debts.
  4. Another crazy story from unluckiest winners is the story of William Post III. William Post won $16.2 million back in 1988 but within a year he was in debt of $1 million. He lost his fortune when a former girlfriend sued him for a third of his winnings. Even his own brother tried to kill him.
  5. Michael Carroll is a 19-year-old who won a $15 million lottery in 2012. He spent all the winning money on drugs, prostitutes and parties and the money are all gone within 5 years.
